Weathers looked very impressive in first outing as a Yankee but it's only spring training so let's see how he does in his next start.

indeed, hard to really judge the guy given the inferior competition of the day

but he looked as though he knows a few things about pitching

and was trying to pitch

rather than trying just to throw it past the hitters

Washington looks like a less than professional team.

No disrespectcto CC. but his number should not be retired. in fact there's a whole bunch of numbers I'd un-retire.

On the numbers, no on Reggie, but I'm not offended that No. 44 is retired (in other words, he's not on my list of disgraces). He is larger than life in a way that Maris or Guidry is not. I feel the same way about Mattingly -- Donnie Baseball feels larger than life, though on straight numbers (42.4 WAR), he doesn't cut it. Similarly, Munson on the numbers (46.0 WAR) didn't rate retirement, but are you really going to give No. 15 to someone else after he died young in an accident?

Weathers looked good. It was so funny when Boone had to go get him.

I see Warren as a starter

not necessarily a Yankee starter.

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
