The Yankees, with the 2 additions they DID make are a better team than they were before they added those 2 players (Jazz Chisholm and Mark Leiter Jr). Although still a flawed ballclub, the Yankees have lengthened their lineup beyond Soto and Judge, as Wells has improved with mostly everyday play, plus the addition of Chisholm, plus Volpe and Torres have started to hit better, and eventually, Stanton will find his rhythm and timing and once he does, he can become dangerous again.
Add to that, that the Yankees schedule has become easier, PLUS, many of the other great teams in the MLB are also going through tailspins and injuries to key players causing their extended absences, plus the Yankees…
they had a really bad patch and lost twice as many as they won....... for a little more than a month.
but a team that remained a dozen games above ,500 and not more than two games behind in their division was never all that far gone.
they lost their fist baseman and catcher and LeMahieu appeared to be even more lost that those other guys
but they are far from lost if their pitching tightens up.
at ebb, the team has been allowing 4 runs/game and that must be reduced
the offense produces an average of 5 runs/game.......... and that seems to be increasing.
in their last loss, they scored 5
