The Dr. Sem Yankees Show (7/26/25)

I'll discuss third base - why the Yankees' actions demonstrate that even they didn't think Jazz Chisholm was a third baseman, the good and the less-than-good about the Ryan McMahon trade, and then, my franchise changing idea for getting the Yankees to the top in 2025. Something big needs to be done, immediately, that can make the Yankees feared in October (and they also need someone to get them there). My move would require a franchise changing philosophy and a big change that would give the team instant respect.

Paul, I have to say, I'm very disappointed in your so-called big idea.

What I have seen by the written word from you and heard out of your mouth lately is giving more credence to my assertion that Boone was hired only to be the Manager in name only. Now, I have called for the FO to BACK THE HECK OFF when it comes to lineup, etc. How about this? Why not let Boone and his coaches call the shots. Oh and I'd take it one step further. I'd call Boone in, and ask him, which coaches he wants gone, or duties reassigned too. Remember my other big thing about Boone's staff: It was interviewed, and chosen by peo…

Once Cashman essentially told him to stay in his lane iver Torres last summer, I've openly questioned how much is enough for Boone I get everything you saying, but how mad or upset can 8 get at a guy who took a job knowing he was hired where his #1, #2, and #3 things were all about doing things how they wanted and put spin on it? Heck he wasn't even in the building when Cashman interviewed Blake or Rojas, and the Yankees let us know this tidbit!

Wait, Belichik was handed the keys to the Browns, and he has openly talked about he spent those CLE years figuring everything out between both coaching & front office. How many guys came out of those CLE days and went either to NE with him, and then off to other places. Oh, he took a Pro Bowl TE, Ozzie Newsome, mentored him, and he ascended to the top of the Browns/becoming Ravens top of the football chart and a HOF GM.

I like the move. I think someone had the same idea recently))) check out the QH from July 23

someone said, it is all on Hal now

fire Boone

their suggestion was Showalter

I like that better. i have never been a fan of maddon. I believe Buck is a 2x MOY. i believe he would command the respect you wish for, but even if i dont like Maddon he would surely be worth a try as long as it means NO MORE Boone

someone said Hal needs to tell BC he is the one to go and get the players the team needs and then remind him, He is the GM and NOT the manager. GO get the player…

I have never been a big believer in Maddon. obviously the guy who followed him with TBR did pretty well too, so some of that success perhaps goes to the system?? also, I might argue that if he was truly a great manager the Cubs win at least a 2nd WS if not more. the FO VERY literally went all out to give him such a great team that it was nearly impossible to fail, and they still got a bit lucky not to lose to Clev after being up 3-1

the front office traded away a lot of future additions to fill ever gap that team had. why did that team completely fall apart with in 18 months o…

I am with you Paul…I would love to see Joe Maddon as the manager. Let Cashman see if he can bring in some fresh arms for the bullpen. I’m for trading Grisham while his value is at a peak. This team needs a jolt and replacing Boone is a great start! Good luck Boonie but you had a long lease and it has not worked. McMahon not a big splash but hopefully he could turn into Brousis 2.0. Decent start to trade deadline. Not giving up on 2025 quite yet! Have a great Saturday…Let’s go Yankees!
