The Tuesday Discussion SSTN Predictions (Chris O’Connor)

by Chris O’Connor

March 30, 2021

***

What will the 2021 Yankees’ win/loss record be?

97-65

What is your prediction for the 2021 Yankees?

AL East Champs, World Series champs over Dodgers in 7

The Yankees will trade this player during the season.

Miguel Andujar for pitching help. With the amount of depth in the lineup, Andujar simply has no place on this team anymore. He can be a solid regular for a major league team, which is why he could be a key piece in a deal for a reliever mid-season if he can rebuild some of his value.

The Yankees will acquire this player during the season.

Daniel Bard of the Rockies is a name to watch. He is making just over $2.9 million this year and will not become a free agent until 2023. Bard had a career rebirth in the shortened 2020, pitching to a 3.65 ERA in 24.2 innings in his first major league action since 2013. The Yankees love their velocity and Bard’s average fastball was 97.1 mph last year. He would bolster the bullpen depth when the Rockies inevitably sell at the trade deadline.

Who will lead the team in hits?

DJ LeMahieu with 186.

Who will lead the team in home runs?

Aaron Judge with 35.

Which pitcher will win the most games?

Gerrit Cole with 18.

Will any Yankee win a major award (Rookie of the Year, MVP, Cy Young)?

Gerrit Cole will win the AL Cy Young.

The Least Among Them.png

"This charming and meticulously researched book will remind you of baseball’s power to change and enrich lives far beyond the diamond."

—Jonathan Eig, New York Times best-selling author of Luckiest Man, Opening Day, and Ali: A Life

From Compton to the Bronx.jpg

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
