This was the most frightening Yankees moment I can remember…

One of the scariest moments I can remember as a Yankee fan came when the Yankees traded for Giancarlo Stanton. Although I knew Stanton was fresh off an MVP season with the Marlins in 2017 and was excited to see what he could bring to Yankee Stadium, he still had ten seasons on his contract as he was entering his late 20s.

This was a great move for the short-term, but could potentially be devastating long-term. Through the first four seasons, Stanton has had two solid seasons (2018 and 2021), but has also had a couple of great postseasons (2020 and 2021). After all, they did acquire him so he could help them in the postseason, and has carried the offense over the past two.
