"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.
Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."

Keller was really, really good. In addition to his wartime service interrupting his career, but a devastating back injury in 1947 basically ended his career.
Silly question. Should voters do some sort of special compensation in their voting for folks who lost prime playing time to military service? Keller basically averaged 6 WAR per season before his service in 1944/most 1945, and was a 6 WAR player in 1946. So, he likely lost about 10 WAR, which would have given him about 54 career WAR, borderline HOF.
Should he then be put in the HOF? Should he be denied the honor because he served his country?
Keller and Heinrich had stellar careers interrupted by the war. The real one. When adjusted for the missing years, their career WAR compares favorably with many at their positions who are already enshrined in Cooperstown. Hopefully they will find an advocate to present their cases to the Veteran’s Committee or whatever its called now.
In the meantime, it is far past time to get their plaques hanging in Monument Park! A “committee” is not needed for that!
