Warren, Blackburn, and Escarra on roster. Slater, Yarbrough, and Gil are left off. Gil I understand -- he won't pitch until Division Series. Slater I understand -- no need for his lack of bat. Blackburn over Yarbrough?? Yarby hasn't pitched in forever....hurt?

PROBLEM: Yankee offense will be out of tune......no Jazz.

Wells gets the start at C

McMahon sits

Tied most wins in AL. Made playoffs. Won last 8 games of season. So why is Boone still the Manager?

in my view it was a mistake to pull Fried with Rafeala coming up. Rafeala swings as much as any hitter in the game. he is a guy that you have no need to throw strikes to get him out. Fried is a master of getting those guys out and it is not the strong suit of Weaver

let Fried get Rafeala and I think the whole thing goes differently. the Boone fingerprint on the game

agreed!! I see absolutely no reason to pull Fried after 102 pitches. I am probably letting him go beyond Rafeala if that AB goes quickly

but by this point, Boone should know what type of batter Rafeala is. he is NOT a good matchup for Weaver. even if I did not know the history I would guess that Weaver does not get him out very often

No one hit well, but once again Judge disappoints in the post season.

by any and every statistical measure, the Yankees faced 2 of the best 2-5 best pitchers in all of baseball tonight and Judge had 2 hits

I guess if by disappointing you mean you had your heart set on a home run then I guess yes it was disappointing

How in the heck did Dominguez NOT pinch run for Goldschmidt?!?!? I'm losing my cool in front of my TV...

your point about them not knowing who would / could be the tying or winning run and needing to keep someone for Stanton is totally valid. that said the idea of Jdom putting pressure on Chappie is also good. Chappie has a bit of history of doing dumb stuff under pressure, such as balking Volpe over to 2b the previous inning (not sure why Volpe was not stealing 3b on the next pitch?)

I think if it came to Stanton being important, Rice is seen as a pretty good base runner even if he is not as fast as Jdom

I am sure the possibility of using one of your pitchers as a baserunner no longer exists. this is anothe…
