This has been a long time coming, but I just received the proof of my upcoming book West Point at Gettysburg (Vol 1).

This book does not have an exact release date yet, but it will be in 2026.

The book looks great. Two sample pages are below along with the cover art.

(I know this is a baseball site. Have no fear, Abner Doubleday, a Union General at Gettysburg is in the book!)

Congratulations!

Adams was commanding a regiment as a captain? You'd expect at least a lieutenant colonel in that job. Were the senior officers of the 4th Infantry casualties, leaving him in command? It's also worth noting that this was a Regular Army unit, which tended to be more proficient than the average state volunteer units.

Apparently he died 8 months after the war ended from wounds suffered at Cold Harbor.

THANK YOU!!!

Lots of fascinating stuff in this book.

It's been a long time coming. As you can see from the above, just a very brief sample, this was an intense labor of love.

I still have to give the book one last proof, what I have is just what might be called a digital galley, but my Yankees numbers book has a deadline sooner so that's where my energies are right now. That and working and teaching and....

I check the site right now only to give my brain brief breaks...

Soon I'll have to start on Volume 2 of this series. WP at G Vol. 2 (H-N)

"Scattering The Ashes has all the feels. Paul Russell Semendinger's debut novel taps into every emotion. You'll laugh. You'll cry. You'll reexamine those relationships that give your life meaning." — Don Burke, writer at The New York Post

The Least Among Them.png

"This charming and meticulously researched book will remind you of baseball’s power to change and enrich lives far beyond the diamond."

—Jonathan Eig, New York Times best-selling author of Luckiest Man, Opening Day, and Ali: A Life

From Compton to the Bronx.jpg

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
