Yankees Baseball Card Trivia at Noon – 4 Consecutive Homers List…
My Uncle David did some great baseball research and compiled a list of the only times a baseball team has had batters connect for four consecutive homeruns in a game. (For the record, this has taken place only nine times in baseball history. Amazingly, the Yankees have never done it. )
This week, we will look at some of the teams that accomplished this rare feat. (You see, scattered among the players who were part of the four consecutive homers were some former or future Yankees…)
On July 31, 1963, the Cleveland Indians hit four consecutive homers against the Angels in Los Angeles.
These players hit the homers:
Woodie Held, (This Player), Tito Francona, and Larry Brown
(To our most astute readers, yes, Woodie Held was also a Yankee… for a grand total of five games in the 1950’s.)
