Yankees Baseball Card Trivia at Noon – In Commemoration of Memorial Day

Thanks to our good friend ProfRobert for bringing us the baseball card trivia questions this week!

In commemoration of Memorial Day, this week’s players were all Yankees better known for playing for a team whose home stadium had the word “Memorial” or “Veterans” in it. Name the player and home stadium where he had better years.

Friday:

A highly touted minor league prospect, this player was a bust with the Yankees, who shipped him out for a guy who never played another day in the Majors. When this player resurfaced, he had his best season playing in the stadium that gets him on this list, though he’s probably even better known for the team he went to afterward, where he won a World Series.

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
