My father and I went to the Billy Joel bobblehead giveaway game at Yankee Stadium on July 11, 2025 . I couldn't help but take note of the overwhelming amount of advertisements that the Yankees plaster all over the stadium.

I created a list of (almost) every ad I saw.

The list is unfathomable.

By my count, over the course of a 9 inning ballgame (and some pregame), I was hounded with an astonishing 122 different ads!

And, that's not all. From where I was sitting, I know there were at least 5 ads that I was unable to read on a digital screen. I also wasn't able to count ads that were displayed behind home plate, in the corners of the outfield walls, or in the bullpens, as I did not see them during the game. I also didn't choose to walk around the stadium looking for other ads that were on posters or walls, of which I am sure included many more ads that are not in this count.

Furthermore, I did not count any company products being sold that did not have a specific ad posted on a video board or display that I could see from my seat.

I am sure that, with a sharp eye, a perfect seat, and time to walk around the stadium, a person (or group) could easily spot 150 different advertisements.

If you think the Yankees are struggling for money, remember this list.

As a bonus, for fun, I asked ChatGPT to help me categorize the ads. Here are the results:

(I did have to fix a number of errors.)

The Yankees earned approximately $767 million dollars last year. The MOST in baseball. The dodgers were second with approx $440 million. And Hal bitches about the Cohen tax , which is about $50 million this year? Please....save the tears.

All this makes me hate the Steinbrenner family even more. Let’s take in as much as we can but not put even half of it back into the product. Screw the fans.

the teams squeeze in every last dollar that the market will bear

and will look for more

they'll blast recorded ads over the PA

so that you can't avoid aural assault while your kid drinks his $10 Co'cola

and they'll still be telling the league office that the players are too greedy

Yup, but they also made that offer knowing it was less than what the other guy offered.

If I know you offered 10 million, I can safely offer 9.75 million and act surprised when you turned me down.

I have researched and tried to figure out the cost of these ads.

I saw, on-line, that a personal message on the screen costs $150.00

That is a one shot, one second thing.

It is apparent that the Yankees are bringing in millions, probably tens of millions from the ads.

The stadium is now full of them. Everywhere you look is an ad. They have used every square inch of wall space for ads.

And they won't because they do not want anyone to know how much they rake in.

But what I want to know is: how much do any of those spots cost?
