ALDS Game 1: Royals (0-0) vs Yankees (0-0)

Looking at the Yankees roster I guess we can expect some defensive switches and pinch runners!

Once again -- hmmmm -- Boone said Rice would start at 1B

Now we start to find out if the Soto trade was a smart move.

Can Judge carry the Yankees?

Who else will do some heavy lifting?

NOT TOO LONG AGO Aaron Judge was HOT!! it took him one game to become not hot

well I think he gets ONE and only one playoff game to get it figured out!! he does not have to be superman, but we need at least 75% of normal Judge if we are gonna get this done

3 times on base for Wells will get it done. nice night for the rookie!!

I have literally deleted "in game comments" I have made because they "didn't age well", and instantly proved me wrong when the opposite occurred from what I had just said.

WOW!!!!!!

Weaver is NOT a big human, but he has some real real BIG you know what!!

HUGE AB vs Witt

start him 3-0

comes back with 5 or 6 strikes in a row and not a single one down the middle, everything located wonderfully on the edges

is this his new normal? how much will the Yankees or someone pay him in the offseason to find out?

Luke Weaver has come a LONG way since being a "failed starting pitcher" for many years, for many teams, including these same Kansas City Royals.

IT was far from pretty

but the Yankees won on a night when Cole pitched not-so-well

and Judge failed to hit.

Most commonly, in the post season, it's the guys you DON'T expect to do well who come through even more than the guys you EXPECT to do well. Like Bucky Dent and Brian Doyle in 1978.

It wasn't pretty. But they won.

Two more wins and it's off to the next round.
