seeing reports that NYY and LAD were in a bidding war for Paredes? does that make sense? doesnt it seem like if the Yankees and Dodgers were bidding / battling for Paredes that one of them would have come up with an offer better than what they got from the Cubs

I guess I will need to read more. maybe 1 or more of the Cub prospects / players was very highly regarded

ok so Morel has been in MLB since 2022. he had 26 HR last year and has 18 this year. his BA is .199 and OBP is .302

I guess that must be the deal. Tampa thinks they are getting a player with a similar profile a…

I have read rumors of the Yankees possibly trading Nestor Cortes for Tommy Edman. That would basically be a reply of the Yankees trading Jordan Montgomery to St Louis for Harrison Bader. Trading a starting pitcher who has had success over the years in the Yankees starting rotation to St Louis for a currently injured position player. Sound familiar? I wouldn't be surprised if Nestor landed with another team, hooked up with that team's pitching coach, and made tweaks that resulted in him being a better pitcher for that team than he has been with the Yankees.

i was a bit surprised that Boone sent him out for the 7th

but, upon further review, I realize that it wasn't just that the pen was tired

trying to extend Rodon also was a reflection that Gil is starting tomorrow in Philly

and that they don't want Gil to go more than 5

This series victory over Boston COULD be the turning point of the season for the Yankees, back to their winning ways. Often, when a dynamic addition is made to a ballclub (Jazz), regardless of how that player performs when he first joins the ballclub, it energizes the other players and changes their mindset a bit, and they again play winning baseball.

YES adding a player that you actually GO and pay something for- not adding a free give away- says to the team, we know you are working hard. we have your back and we are working hard to support you

also, when you have someone on the bench better than Davis or Jones, it tells some people that they need to produce or the team will have a better option

I love it when my reliever walks a guy in the 9th inning with a six-run lead.

Paul, do you know how I'm restraining myself here?

I'm not even sure about Kahnle. You have to have something else that works besides the change-up. Otherwise, there's no change; you're just a slow-ball pitcher.

6 RBI from 6-9 in the lineup. I'd be very happy if they could do that regularly.
