Marianaccio did his job today. With Effross just about ready, I still think Jake Cousins is going to be squeezed out to make room for the first pitcher back.

I think Jake Cousins earned the right to have a regular bullpen spot. I think it will be "survival of the fittest" with the "weakest link" being the one who is cut.....Or at least that is how it SHOULD be.

If Torres moves the runner, Wells scores on Chisholm's hit. Instead, no tack-on run courtesy of two K's.

doubt that the Yankees have a problem with too few runs scored

in this game.

their task for the remainder of the first game is to keep the Rangers from crossing the plate

Rodon is expending too much time and energy in grousing about strike calls

seems Carlos has a need to insist upon a strike zone wider than the ump wants to call

That's because of the emphasis in the game today on VELOCITY. The higher the VELOCITY of a pitcher's pitches, the better his chance of being called up, and the better the chance that the pitcher will stick and remain in the majors. This emphasis on VELOCITY is the DIRECT CAUSE of the explosion of Tommy John surgeries at every level of baseball, from high school, to college, and to every level of the minor leagues as well as the majors. The UCL is a very delicate ligament and it was not designed to be used to throw any object at the speed that pitchers today can throw pitches. It is an extremely fragile ligament, and with pitchers who thro…

Gleyber with another outstanding defensive effort. i honestly believe that there is NOT another player in all of MLB who has more trouble with routine pop ups than Gleyber. how about that - hey stinkin analytics department earn your pay!! tell Gleyber when a popup is hit, run in the opposite direction and let ANY other player make the play

Oswald Peraza is SCORCHINGLY red hot right now at AAA. I think the time is NOW, while Peraza is so red hot to bring him up and insert him at 2B, where he would be an instant upgrade both offensively and defensively over Gleyber Torres. He seems much better NOW than he was during his previous trials in the majors, and the time is NOW for the Yankees to truly see exactly what they've got in him.

That's why I don't like to comment too much on game action while the game is being played. I do, and then my comments often don't "age well" as my words are often proven wrong right after I type them.
