Yesterday no Es by Lombard and 2 -- count 'em 2-- OF assists, so Lombard bats 6th again.

Last night Yanks couldn't hit a guy with a 4.54 ERA -- they'll do better this afternoon against a much better pitcher!

Chat at y'all this evening.
I understand that deciding one run per game is not in the long term a winning strategy. But not scoring any runs is not the direction I would have taken.
Volpe playing 3B today for SWB.
Yankees signed former NYM top prospect Jarred Kelenic and he's in CF today for SWB. Oh, and having him knocked Bolpe out of the leadoff spot.
Interesting strategy -- tire out the Red Sox before game 2 by making them run a lot!
OK, so here's my prediction because I've seen this episode before. The bullpen gives up an insurance run in the top of the 9th, and the Yankees score two on a home run in the bottom of the inning to lose 3-2.
