Game 138: Tigers (63-74) vs Yankees (68-69)

Wells gets the day off after an off day.

Stanton dropped to 5th in lineup.

Fangraphs has Yankees as 68% favorites -- must be because Stanton is batting 5th.

The Yankees should do something to honor Cabrera on his last visit to Yankee Stadium.

Lipcius, 3B -- .143

Meadows, CF -- .289

Baez, SS -- .217

Rogers, C -- .209

Wow, second and third, no outs, and I'm waiting for popup, strikeout, flyout, like it's been all year. Instead, both runs score on a double, and we're now still runner on second, no outs. Who are these guys in pinstripes? I don't recognize them.

Stanton fourth quickest to 400 home runs behind Ruth, McGwire and A-Fraud. So second fastest non-juicer.

Idea for between innings entertainment: foul line to foul line race between M. Cabrera, Stanton and the Freeze. Cabrera and Stanton get to start at the RF bullpen.

I wonder what that guy who was telling this morning what a genius Boone is thinks of that challenge

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
