Replying to

your point about distracting the throw is very valid. I do feel this was more than that. STILL advancing into scoring position with the defense focused on the runner at home SHOULD also be SOP!

part of my point here is that the Yankees have FAR FAR too often failed to execute standard fundamental SMART baseball plays!!

tonight they executed wisely and skillfully

no, prof, Romano did not "allow" Jazz to run on him.

Jazz is not easily dissuaded from running.... and Romano made attempts at dissuasion

Jazz is also not easily caught when he does run

seems to me that Jazz is also difficult to throw out when he does run. seems like a >75% success rate.

the walk was not at all good, but seemed to be a product of trying to get the K against the lefty batter while keeping Jazz at 2B

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
