Nice to crush Rays, but to compete for 1st, they needed to win 3, or even 4. They will finish with 82 wins, if they're lucky, depending on what Judge can do, when, or if, he returns.

Amazing.

Now they'll head to DC and sweep the Nationals. And Boone will say, "We turned it around."

And the chance to get a new manager (not that it was likely) disappears.

Amazing thing is that the toothless Yankee offense went into Tampa and scored a solid number of runs in three of the four games.

they may have walloped the Rays today, but that should not obscure that they scored 5 in the first game and 4 in the second.

there are a couple of fairly serious organizational problems as well as two of three improvements needed in the composition of the team roster,

but the real problems are not properly ascribed to the (middle) manager.

Boone is neither a great asset nor a great liability.

Is Milli Chivilli the real thing? I see he was lights out at SWB in 12 games. It would be nice if one ex-Rockie in the bullpen didn't stink.
