scoring 4 runs in the 1st inning makes everyone's job slightly easier to do also!! and makes it easier to challenge hitters when you dont have to worry that a solo HR might cost your team the game

I really want Estevez. Effross may need time in the minors, he doesn't look ready to pitch in MLB. Schmidt should be back before September 1. Was really hoping that they'd use Jack Neely enough in SWB to see if he was a legit internal option, but they're not (can he be hurt too?). Both Hill & Tonkin just might be good enough for 2024, but I'm not looking at them as long term pieces, just like I had my doubts about Ian Hamilton, even during 2023. Why the Yankees can't put a kid a year into the pen is beyond my comprehension.

If the Yankees hold on and win this one, and with the score being what it is, I am confident that they will: FIRST PLACE again! At least a tie for first. That will make tomorrow a battle to see who gets to go to the All Star Break with sole possession of first place by one full game.
