Quick Hit: SWEEP!

DJ LeMahieu did all the damage today against the Phillies, as the Yankees win 6-5 and sweep the 3 game series!

3 Questions

  • what players do you believe we made an ACTUAL offer for, as opposed to simply saying the prices were too high OR blah blah blah team was really not interested in selling. example, cincy really did not want to sell India. DID we make an offer??

  • does anyone know WHAT we plan to do now that we so skillfully managed to KEEP every single one of our top ten prospects? will we be bringing Arias, Lombard, Jones, and Selvidge up SOON to give an assist to the big roster?

  • finally, are we still undefeated in all the games that Jazz is our starting 3b?))) had to end with something fun))!!!

yeah, if one assumes that Soto is back next year, Jones can stay down and ripen

BUT

if things change, then they change.

my assumption was that if Cashman was pretty sure that Soto would be back, if Soto's return was reasonably certain

then Jones would have been made available in trade.

I'm glad DJ contributed big time to a sweep of the Phillies. But I think it was just a fluke. I'm guessing DJ will be back to himself as an automatic out.

DJ, in his current state, I firmly believe is still far better defensively at 2B then Gleyber Torres is at this point. All it takes is for him to hit again, and like you said "85% of DJ from the first 2 years", and he would be a better choice than Gleyber at this point for the rest of the season. When DJ was at his best, he was lethal with runners in scoring position. MAYBE yesterday's performance was an indication that DJ is FINALLY getting his timing back, and FINALLY has the swing and the hand/eye coordination that he had in his first two seasons.
