Yes, Judge, Judge, Judge, of course - the exception proves the rule. I may be wrong but the astute Yankees brass didn't even use their first pick on Judge. The problem is poor draft position complicated by lousy scouting/drafting. As a result, prospects are over-hyped to mollify the fan base. And you get the Birds and Sanchezes and all the others. One superstar drafted since 1992? Not a great record.

If you have to rely on Le Mahieu, now that the season's over, waking up from a five-month snooze, for your offensive punch, then just phone it in in September and save those travel expenses.

The vaunted farm system has done its part: 0-7 today from 7-8-9.

I know! And the Yankees do this all the time. A few years ago they brought up some stiff from Triple-A who hit .179 in 27 games, OPS+ of 61. He was a complete bum and the Yankees should have DFA'd him after the season. Trying to remember his name now. Something like "Allan Justice" or "Adam Jury" -- something with an "A" and then a word having to do with something legal. It's on the tip of my tongue. Anyway, the point is that he was a complete waste and proved he had no business playing in the Major Leagues.
