The umpiring today, to my eye, gets worse every year. Manfred, MLB, & the MLBPA each refuse to do anything about it, each in their own way. If I was commissioner for a day, I's overhaul the how the umpires do their jobs, in both in the Majors and the Minors. All full season leagues would get 4 man crews, Rookie leagues would get 3 man crews. Since we have ratings and data for how umpires do their jobs either behind the plate or on the bases, or, even handle player/coach interactions, umpires would lose their jobs at the end of the season.
