What shocked me most is the stat that Girardi said very quickly in the booth post game wrap up - All 4 of the loses on this homestand were to LHP. This just directly points at the very ineffective (see Paul, I'm trying to be nice) of the failure of both DJ LeMahieu & Glyber Torres. Then, throw in the injuries at SWB to Dominguez, Pereira, & Durbin. Picking up J.D. Davis is a nice temporary piece, but personally, I would rather hand over 3B to Peraza, cut Jones, and make LeMahieu Rice's defensive 1B replacement, and have Cabrera pop up as a defensive replacement at 3B for Davis, and once a week, replacing both Torres & Davis in …

My point exactly. But that is where the injuries, especially to both Dominguez & Pereira really hurt. No immediate direct replacement from the minors. Ben Rice, who made a Dominguez type of AAA pass through, looked to be ready to at least be given a shot. RH Power Bat and moved to AAA to AA when Rice got the call up, , has not looked nearly as comfortable at the plate, and Tyler Hardman, in the Development Group's infinite wisdom is back and apparently stuck in AA.

Well on the bright side. The Baltimore Orioles lost for the 3rd day in a row, losing to the Houston Astros 8 - 1. Their losing pitcher was the one who hit Judge, Albert Suarez. So the Orioles were SWEPT out of Houston and the Yankees have retained their first place position as a result. Thank you, Houston.

Yeah there's a chance we might face the Astros in the postseason. I hope our fortune changes this time if we play them again. I think we're due.

From Compton to the Bronx.jpg

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
