I just finished the SSTN Podcast. EJ is optimistic about this team still. So so so many are. On the other hand, I threw in the towel.

Except for the idea of hope, or dreaming, or "well, they have turned it around before..." what is there to be optimistic about with this Yankees team?

They are 9-13 in July. They've guaranteed themselves their second consecutive losing month.

They also ended May with two losses.

This hasn't been a good team in months.

The manager never has any answers.

Their best player is hurt.

There is little to look at and say, "You know, the 2025 Yankees are good!" (They aren't.)

Full recap in the morning...

WHY do so many still believe? stupidity? i dont think so. fans blindness? somewhat valid but I dont think that is the whole story

I know some (perhaps Paul more than anyone) believe BC created a very flawed team in the winter of 2025. Paul, I know you will have some thoughts about me disagreeing with you irrationally about what you would call something that is obvious on it's face... but

before Spring Training

Rotation

very strong with depth and arms to spare (so much so that EVERYONE here wanted one starter traded)

the rotation BC created was expected to be as valid as any to be the best in all MLB

PEN

Closer- check BC went out and got…

just curious, if it meant the brewers walk away and we never get Williams would you have said absolutely not on Durbin?

personally, I cannot honestly answer that question. I know Williams started off tough, but another TOP TOP reliever felt HUGE. nobody can fault BC on that! the team had a need and he went out and got arguably the best reliever in the game

but I think I would have to be physically in the room to know what I would do. all I can say is that I would have given up a LOT to keep Durbin out of the deal!! I had him on my untouchable list all year last year. honestly, I had both Dur…

I'm more agreeing with you. This team needs to catch fire, but there isn't a part of this team, on the field, in the dugout, the minors, or the front office that doesn't needs work. And I just don't trust Cashman to make the right deals.

What has this team shown that short of a SHOCK move that will revive this club? Fire the manager? How long would that effect last?

HAL, PLEASE TURN THE CLUB OVER TO YOUR NEPHEW, WHO IS THE DESIGNATED HEIR TONIGHT!

Paul, if you watched the game, how long did it take you tonight to get the Name That Yankee? I got it instantly.
