Quick Hit: Yanks Lose Again

by Paul Semendinger

August 28, 022

On Friday night, the Yankees didn't score in the following innings:

They managed to win that game 3-2.

On Saturday, the Yankees didn't score in the following innings:

They lost 3-2.

Today, the Yankees didn't score in the following innings:

Count them up, that's 29 innings. The mighty Yankees were able to score in just three of those innings.

Did we mention that the Yankees were playing the last place Oakland A's, the team with the worst record in the American League and the second worst record in all of baseball?

Did we mention the starting pitchers on Saturday and Sunday both came into the games with ERAs over 6.00?

Did we mention that the Yankees managed a grand total of five hits over their last two games?

The Yankees are not good right now. At all. No window dressing can change that. At all. They are now:

  • 9-16 in August

  • 14-22 in the second half

  • 22-29 since July 1

From Compton to the Bronx.jpg

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
