a hamstring for Stanton. if this is more than the mildest of mild hamstring problems Stanton will be out more than 10 days.

in the past that has been enough to throw his timing off to the point that he could not get it back for the remainder of the season.

when healthy, Stanton has been a VERY GOOD playoff hitter, actually he has been better in the playoffs than Judge has ever been.

here is Grishams chance to prove his value- for either the Yanks or for someone to trade for.

What about Vaughn from CHW? former top 5 pick, has been pretty hot lately, also has some team control left beyond this year at a reasonable dollar cost

let's begin with Peraza

and not worry too greatly about Stanton's absence until we're certain that he must miss a large chunk of time.

Peraza brings a lot to the party and, if he should hit enough, he'll stabilize the infield defense and allow the DJ/Rice 1B combo platter to remain on offer.

Stanton's absence and Dominguez unavailability is a bit of misfortune, but is also an opportunity for Soto and the others to step to the fore

i would argue that we needed an additional hitter even more than we needed a bullpen arm. IF Stanton is out for anything more than a couple days, I think adding a hitter becomes even MORE important!!

I am just not sure if there is a real difference making hitter available??

Rengifo is having a very nice year. would he make you feel like we are the favorites in the AL? I dont think he makes me feel that way

I feel like if AZ falls off a little Joc Pederson could be had. i have ALWAYS been a big fan!! but unless Stanton has a VERY serious injury, where would he play? he is VERY obviously a proven postseas…

Gomez really has appeared to be a fine bullpen option, but he's still early in his career and better suited to a multi-inning role.

i doubt that he's sufficiently seasoned and thus not suited to closing.

think that you're quite correct to prefer a high-K guy pitch the ultimate inning

and fully believe that the Yankee organization shares that preference.

a good response against a good team. I believe the Braves had won 6 in a row before today.

WE NEED Nestor to have his Yankee Stadium magic working tomorrow!! Fried has been very tough lately and will provide our hitters with a challenge. Nestor needs to match him!!

it would be nice to get a start without giving up runs in the first inning for the first time in a while

Most incredible star of the game was definitely Soto having 28 PA against Morton and has reached base 15 times.

What about Hank Greenberg?

Barry Bonds - did he ever do that, or better?
