i am glad EJ brought it up earlier. I have also said it a few times this postseason. Volpe is playing much better than his numbers show. one blatant error, but it was not from being lax or unfocused. he was trying to make a difficult play

working counts!! taking walks!! and he has hit maybe more hard balls than anyone on the team not named Giancarlo "Mantle" "Ruth" Stanton, and has gotten little to show for it. he ripped another ball to RC tonight

Meanwhile, the Dodgers in LA were "snakebit" by the Mets, almost literally. There was a real live snake that found its way into the Dodgers dugout. Doesn't surprise me. On one occasion, I was walking down a sidewalk in LA, and spotted a snake slithering on it, so they are around here.

Didn’t watch most of the game…was Rizzo hurt or just pulled as a precaution? Was surprised to see Cabrera out there.

We still have to consider 8 LOB (1 per inning on average), 0-for-7 RISP. It amazes me they could win on these numbers, but the 7 BB and FIVE WP, gave the Yankees a gift. I have doubts about their ability to win with that kind of "clutch" performance, even as awful as the Guardians appear to be.

One- Yankees have played 5 playoff games this year. if i am seeing correctly, they have 27 BB. almost 5.5 per game


Two- when you put a LOT of people on the bases, you can afford to leave a few more than the other team (not saying that is perfect. not saying it is what you want. but it definitely is true)


I believe if you look at the RISP stats of the 4 remaining teams in the playoffs, the Yankees do not compare terribly. therefore, if all teams are less than stellar with RISP, then the team who puts the MOST runners on base has an advantage. i guess i am saying maybe the question is not what t…
