It didn't start off well, but the Yankees have had their backs against the wall before. Actually, for this team, it's been a lot...

Will the Yankees defeat Toronto and move on to the ALCS?

Fried is locked in, more so than at any point he's been at this seson. Yankees win today. Judge needs to stop trying to do too much and just let the game come to him. Also, Boone needs to stop sabotaging the Yankees chances by bringing Luke Weaver into close games. He's clearly not the same pitcher he was before getting injured.

With Rodon and then Superman, er, Schlitler lined up to pitch next, this series could easily tilt the Yankees way pretty quickly. However, if Toronto steals any one of the next three games, then it would come down to a decisive fifth game and potentially, another Gil start or perhaps a Luke Weaver start -- both of which…

please dont take this badly, but I have to ask, what in the world could lead you to believe that Judge is trying to do too much?

before you answer, I guess I can come up with one example, oops maybe two. in the bases loaded AB yesterday we could say he should have walked instead of swinging at ball 4. I do not think that would be totally fair but I guess it is semi valid

and that would be connected to the second point. we could say he is trying to do too much because he has not been walked yet

that said, USUALLY if Judge is making contact and getting hits the power shows up

HE IS…

Fried has not pitched well at all against Toronto. If the offense stays in a coma, this will be a three game sweep.

i feel good about our chances. that is about as close as i can go to a prediction... usually that is

today I actually will give a prediction on the individual player front

Judge hits at least 1 HR today. I feel it. I believe it

Of course they can. Having your top 3 starters ready for the next 3 games, where the Jays are patching things together, gives them the edge there. But outside of when he had the blister problem, that he pitched through with only one start pushed back. In fact, Fried only gave up 62 ER this year, and 31 of them came during his 8 Blister Starts. So, that means, his ERA the rest of the season was just at about 2.00. But the question really is about today, will the roof be open or closed? Being in those stands for numerous games when I lived up there, the place does play very different open vs closed.
