Consider three players and their slash lines: Player A: 27 PA, .120/.241/.160/.401

Player B: 33 PA, .143/.273/.143/.416

Player C: 18 PA, .238/.273/.476/.749

Player A is Aaron Judge 2025 spring training.

Player B is Lou Gehrig 1939 regular season.

At what point do we start worrying?

Oh, and Player C is Alex Jackson. When Alex Jackson is beating you by .333 OPS points, you have a problem.

I'm not quite certain that disappointment is minimized by anticipatory onset of disappointment prior to the time that disappointment is appropriate.

seems likely that the duration of negativity is fairly constant even if pre-wallowing seems suitable to those so inclined

Whatever the arguments on that subject (and while I certainly have views, I acknowledge there are legitimate, nonfrivolous arguments to be made as to both existence and scope), I don't think denigrating or ignoring Jackie Robinson's history is even remotely legitimate or acceptable. He was not simply a remarkable ballplayer; he was a remarkable human being who helped make Baseball and this country a better place. Can you imagine what would have happened if someone with, say, Albert Belle's temperament had been the first Black MLB player in the 20th Century?

Is Carrasco the first Yankees SP to go 5 innings? Then we get to hear through Boone about how the bullpen is overused. Well, when you give these guys 6 starts, and they are in their 5th turn and no one has yet to go 5. Really? Is this proper preparation for the season?

We feast off on bad pitching like the Phillies Walker. So don't get excited about the offense in spring training.

nope, you're certainly not the only one

however, Judge has (reportedly) expressed a desire to bat 2nd

and Judge carries a lot of weight

Really optimistic about Bellinger. If Judge is Judge and a few of the kids hit along with Bellinger we should have a better offense than last year. I am also optimistic about Dominguez having a good offensive season. Yes, I know its only spring training.

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.
