I know it is an extremely small sample size, but Verdugo, at least in this game, made an excellent case for why HE should be the leadoff hitter in this lineup.

Let me say this yet again: Verdugo OBP vs. righties 2023, .329. LeMahieu OBP July 5 to October 1, 2023, .370.

What I find interesting is the uni numbers these guys are given. A guy like Wells or Dominguez are given 88/89, but VanMeter is given 19. Spencer Jones Wore both 93 and 19 last year, and is getting close, but he is given 78 with 2023 #1 pick Lombard Jr., is #18. Boy, do I miss Pete Sheehy, and him giving the numbers out.

Verdugo lead-off double. Soto grounder to the right side moves the runner to third. RBI single by Judge. I love this. I feel like I've been waiting for baseball forever this winter.

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
