The SSTN Show!

June 27, 2023

***

Lots of talk bout whether or not the Yankees should be looking to the 2023 playoffs or building towards next year.

Oh, and the player's name is Steve Pearce. (Thanks Mike Whiteman.)

Unless the Padres and other teams turn it around they will probably be sellers. TATIS MACHADO and others may become available. The Yanks should wait and see how things turn out. Then they should trade and or sign free agents It is time to use their financial night to get where they want to go.

"It is time to use their financial night to get where they want to go." I AGREE, 100% with that.

I think that time for Machado has passed. They had the chance to get Machado in his prime or Harper or so many and they passed on them. He isn't the player to get now.

There have also been too many legitimate reports that say (even though the Yankees say otherwise) that they are not willing to pass that next luxury tax threshold.

I wish they would.

I have said for years that the Yankees' biggest strength is their financial power, but that they refuse to use it to it's maximum effectiveness.

McCutchen has been almost strictly a DH for the Pirates this season. Why does EJ think he would magically be able to play RF if he's traded to the Yankees?

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
