Breaking News: Former Yankees Carlos Beltran and Andruw Jones have been elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame by the BBWAA!

Quick Thoughts:
I am a bit surprised that this was a class bigger than just one. I think the expectation was that Carlos Beltran was going to be elected, but I am surprised that Andruw Jones was able to crack the 75% barrier.
After back-to-back years with newcomers to the ballot getting elected, it is not a surprise that this year did not bring forth a first ballot guy.
This is now the second year in a row that two inductees into the Hall of Fame spent time during their careers as New York Yankees. It is highly unlikely that this "trend" continues next year. (Unless Andy Pettitte and Alex Rodriguez stuff the ballot boxes.)
This is now only the second voting class of only former Yankees getting inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, joining the class of 1974 in which Mickey Mantle and Whitey Ford were elected via the ballot. It's clear that the 1974 class was better.
Thoughts on Voting Totals:
Carlos Beltran ended up securing 84.2% of the vote in his 4th year on the ballot. There were obvious reasons that kept him from inducting for the past few years, but one thing that goes unrecognized is how his broadcasting career with the YES Network may have greatly hindered his case.
Andruw Jones secured 78.4% of the vote to earn induction honors in his 9th year on the ballot. This is actually a decent percentage, and a huge jump from last year (+12.2%).
Chase Utley is going to be the front-runner heading into the 2027 ballot, after he earned 59.1% of the vote in his 3rd year. However, he'd need an even bigger jump that Jones to secure a HOF plaque. It may be another 2 (or 3) years before Utley gets in.
Andy Pettitte is making a strong final push, moving up to 48.5% of the vote in his 8th year on the ballot. This is an increase of 20.6% from last year (27.9% in 2025). He'd still need to secure another 13.25% jump each year, but it isn't impossible. There is a future where Pettitte makes the Hall of Fame.
Felix Hernandez is on a great path, holding 46.1% of the vote in just his 2nd year. He has plenty of time to slowly grow his base and make it. This is a very good showing for him.
Alex Rodriguez earned 40% of the vote in his 5th year. His image has done a 180 from his playing days, and I legitimately believe he could be the straw that breaks the camel's back when it comes to PED's and the HOF. (Manny Ramirez dropped off the ballot this year, earning 38.8% of the vote in his 10th and final year.)
Cole Hamels did a lot worse than I expected, getting just 23.8% of the vote. I'm a bit surprised, given how his career numbers stack up well against Felix Hernandez and Andy Pettitte.
Bobby Abreu will have a tough battle with 3 years remaining after only getting 30.8% of the vote.
Jimmy Rolllins finished at 25.4%, Dustin Pedroia at 20.7%, Mark Buehrle at 20%, Omar Vizquel at 18.4%, David Wright at 14.8%, and Francisco Rodriguez at 11.8%. Torii Hunter sticks around for a 7th year, holding at just 8.7%. Wow. All other players were named on fewer than 5% of ballots and will not be considered by the BBWAA in the future.
