Earlier today the New York Yankees (through beat reporters) announced that hitting coach Marcus Thames, third base coach Phil Nevin, and assistant hitting coach P.J. Pilittere are not going to be brought back for 2022.

At this time it remains that the Yankees are unclear on if their future is going to include Aaron Boone. (On another note, the Cardinals did just release their manager Mike Shildt.)

Source: Despite the coaching staff moves today, the Yankees are still undecided (as of this moment) on Aaron Boone's fate. Part of the equation may be whether he wants to stick w/ the coaching staff the Yankees are going to dictate to him. — Brendan Kuty (@BrendanKutyNJ) October 14, 2021

Some Considerations:

Aaron Boone brought Josh Bard and Phil Nevin w/ him when he took the Yankees job. They're both gone. — Brendan Kuty (@BrendanKutyNJ) October 14, 2021
Been more than a week since they were eliminated. If it you have to spend that long deliberating whether you have the right manager, you don't have the right manager. https://t.co/QiBxD7qqEz — Mike Axisa (@mikeaxisa) October 14, 2021
John Mozeliak: "After a successful 2021 season, we have determined that we have a philosophical difference in the direction our major league club is going. We have decided, at this time, that it is best for us to end our partnership with Mike Shildt." — Chelsea Janes (@chelsea_janes) October 14, 2021

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
