$27 million a year, and Stanton can't run hard out of the box. His loafing didn't cost the Yankees here (he's not hitting a triple to left), but it's such a bad look.

wasn't disputing your observation about Stanton looking foolish while standing there watching.


my question was spurred by many times seeing Stanton loping toward first rather than really running. once or twice this season, I've seen him hitting into DPs that were unexpected and avoidable

6.1 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 11 K. That's about on par with Cole's on Opening Day and would have been better if King could have avoided letting the inherited runner score.

I love the home runs and the other extra-base hits, but man, second and third, no outs, you have to either punch it through the drawn-in infield or hit a fly ball to the outfield. You can't strike out or pop up.

Should be an 8-1 laugher. And before it got to 6-1, it was 4-1, runner on second, one out. King righted his ship before it got worse.
