This is the kind of game the Yankees only win against bad teams. Three hits, two runs, each on a solo home run. That will not result in post-season wins.

and I'll agree that scoring 2 runs per game will prove insufficient

in those games in which the Yankee defense fails to hold the opposing team to 1 run or less. on average, the Yankees have allowed 3.7 r/g

so, I'm also of the opinion that the Yankees should score 5 or more per


but I'm willing to admit that, in games where the other team is not allowed to score any,

the Yankees are almost certain to prevail.

it may be cutting it a bit too fine for the comfort of the fans, but shutting the other guys out cuts it every day of the week.
