Nice to see the starter go 6 and actually get the win. We can't expect the bullpen to give up 0 R all season, but this is a great start to 2024. Soto is playing like Soto playing for a contract. Cabrera is playing like Miguel in his prime. Here's hoping they can sweep the Cheatros tomorrow.

i also predict he will pass his career best WAR. but i have already said it in other places in this forum several times. I believe he is going to pass that number multiple times in the next 5-7 years, because biologically he has not actually entered his prime yet. he is pretty much getting there RIGHT NOW and will be in that physical stage from 26 give or take to 31 give or take.

also I believe he was a little thrown off by being traded the first time, even if he did see it coming after turning down the 15 for 450 million or something like that. and there seems something a bit broken in the SD lockerroom

I really like only having to face Hader while the Yankees are leading. Let's do it again tomorrow.

I'm grateful for the insurance run, but I hope this doesn't somehow incentivize Volpe to regress to swinging for the fences all the time. If he can keep hitting .400, though, I won't complain about the occasional home run.

Volpe simply couldn't handle the pressure piled on him by hitting singles and getting all those bases on balls

the .400 is less impressive than the .571 OBP

if he can keep getting on base at that rate........
