I already said Great job once, but seriously Yarbrough!!! 8 Ks!! Zero BBs!! 1 run!!

he used to make my son absolutely furious when he was with the Rays. I always said, I would be thrilled for the Yanks to get him. and he seems like another great veteran. very easy to cheer for!!

when they brought Jackson in to face Judge, I thought, 2 on, 1 out, Judge at the plate, and a guy with 5+ ERA is your best option to come out of the pen? thinking for sure, i mean FOR SURE, they replace him after the inning ending out on the bases. NOPE, they go with the same RHP facing Belli and JDom to start the 9th

is that seriously the best they have in the pen for the 8th and 9th vs the heart of the order?

maybe that is why the ump called a TERRIBLE strike under the zone vs Rice and again vs Judge. he felt sorry for em not having a better pitcher to finish u…

Jackson's ERA is really ugly, but in 18 games this year before tonight, he'd been scored on in only 3. Problem is that two of those amounted to 7 ER in 0.2 IP. Take those two out, and he'd given up 1 ER in 13.1 IP before tonight. His stuff works most of the time, but when it doesn't . . . well, we saw what JDom did with a hanging breaking ball.
