I dont mind if they play .500 ball at the end of the season, after squaring away the AL East.

I do note that the pitching and fielding are more sound this season than last

it allows to imagine, when factoring in the more robust offense, that the season might progress well

How about Williams pitches the 8th, and JLo closes? I think we have a new sub-category of "Guys who can't pitch in New York" -- "Guys who can't pitch the 9th in New York." I wouldn't let Williams near the 9th inning unless there's a blowout (>5-run lead). Loaisiga isn't perfect, but he's not a gutless choker who can't locate pitches, unlike Williams.

The point is, every time Williams goes on the mound, the potential for him self-immolating exists. Boone should ALWAYS have someone behind him, and if Weaver is unavailable, it should be JLo. (And that said, I absolutely would have brought in De Los Santos after either the third or fourth hitter in the inning.)

O'Hoppe bails out Williams by swinging at ball four and fouling out.

O'Hoppe was so ploppy! (Yeah, Sterling's job is safe.)

LeMahieu saves the day with that stretch (or at least extends the day).

He's had three hitters. Get him out of there NOW.

trying to get him right. and now is the time to do it. Angels are now past the heart of the order and we have a sub .200 hitter up
