Putting a slumping player ahead of some hotter hitters isn't necessarily a bad idea. If Judge were hitting second, do you think the No. 1 hitter, whoever it was, might get some decent pitches to hit? Admittedly, it doesn't work conceptually as well when Donaldson is No. 2.
