Game Summary: Yanks Lose to A's

Sometimes west coast games can be a killer.


What follows is a quick summary of Last Night's Game:


  • The A's won 6-4.


  • Losing pitcher Ryan Weathers went 6.2 innings and allowed 5 runs.


  • Jake Bird allowed one run in his one inning of work.


  • The A's led this game from the first inning on.


  • The Yankees managed six hits - they were all singles.


  • Ryan McMahon was the only Yankee with more than one hit. (He had two.)


  • Ben Rice, Aaron Judge, and Cody Bellinger had the Yankees' RBIs. They all came on bases loaded walks in the top of the ninth - see below.


  • The A's hit three homers last night, the Yankees hit none.


  • The Yankees' ninth inning was interesting... Down 6-1, the following took place:

    • Goldschmidt struck out

    • McMahon singled

    • Escarra walked

    • Volpe struck out

    • Grisham walked (bases loaded)

    • Rice walked in a run (6-2)

    • Judge walked in a run (6-3)

    • Bellinger walked in a run (6-4)

    • Chisholm grounded out to end the game


The Yankees and the A's battle today at 4:05 p.m. Will Warren will take the mound for the Yankees.
