Shelley Duncan = Red Sox Coach

Per reports... The Red Sox have hired Shelley Duncan to join their MLB coaching staff.
The Yankees continue to flounder. The obvious moves to better the franchise are the ones they do not make.
It was just a few days ago that I wrote this piece: A SMART MOVE THE YANKEES COULD MAKE... where I argue that Duncan should be placed on the Yankees' staff.
I guess the Red Sox made the smart move.
These are the New York Yankees of today.
There was a time when people (players, coaches, managers, executives) wanted to be part of the Yankees organization. Those days are long gone. Now, it seems they find ways to leave.
There is talk of Terukai Sato possibly being a Yankee. "The Yankees Should Get Him!"
There is other talk about Tarik Skubal being signed by the Yankees.
What fans and the Yankee-centric sports media never ask is, "Do those players actually wish to play for the Yankees?"
I noted, years ago, that if I were a top free agent that the Yankees would not be my first choice to play for. There are other organizations that seem much more functional than the Yankees.
When I note that I do not care enough to care about this team, letting a top coach go to one's biggest rival, is just the latest of a decades-long series of bad moves (or non-moves) made by the Yankees that prove my point.
I simply cannot take the franchise seriously right now when they state that their goal is to be World Champions. They demonstrate poor decision-making (and have for years) almost every single day.
