Mailbag – Thanksgiving Week Announcement

Dear SSTN Readers,

I just wanted to say a little thanks in advance of Thanksgiving this year. This is the first year of our mailbag, and I just want to say thank you to all of you who read and write in questions weekly. Truthfully, I did not expect to receive as many questions week in and week out as we receive currently. I am glad that so many of you maintain interest in the feature, because I greatly enjoy writing the answers and checking the mailbox to see what curveballs you all are throwing my way.

While we have only missed one week since the feature began, I wanted to let you know a few days in advance that the mailbag will be taking a break this week, as the holiday just won’t allow me enough time to do your questions justice. Fear not, though: the mailbag will return the first week of December, and for those of you that email questions this week, know that those questions may very well be answered in next week’s mailbag, so don’t hesitate to send them in (as always, send your questions to:!

Thanks again, and though I’ll have a post or two up on the blog in the coming days, I want to take the time to wish you all a very happy and safe Thanksgiving – ‘til next time!

Your mail carrier,

Andy Singer

The Least Among Them.png

"This charming and meticulously researched book will remind you of baseball’s power to change and enrich lives far beyond the diamond."

From Compton to the Bronx.jpg

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
