One Last Shot… A Real Life Baseball Story (Season One, 2019)

In 2019, after more than 30 years away from playing competitive baseball, I made a comeback of sorts becoming a pitcher (as a 50 and 51 year old) in a 35+ baseball league in New Jersey.
At the time, I figured this was my last shot to play competitive baseball.
This series chronicles my comeback and shares my successes, failures, the Achilles injury, and the best part of the whole experience – having the chance to play baseball with my son Ethan who was able to serve as my catcher.
Recently word came down that New Jersey is opening the ball fields for a 2020 season.
I’ll be pitching again this summer!
Still a kid at heart, I continue to dream of and wait for the phone call from the New York Yankees offering me a tryout and then signing me to help anchor their pitching staff for a World Series run. (I am ready!)
