Yesterday, a wonderful item arrived in the mail : The Globe Decanter Set
I was impressed with how quickly I received my item, and the quality and service of the item. Also, considering the fragility of this glass set, it was packaged very well. Not only did it arrive in perfect condition and well protected from any bumps that could occur in transit, but they also hadn’t gone overboard with the packaging, which I also appreciate.

Now, if you know me, you know I do enjoy my whiskey and I like it neat. I feel strongly that ice does not belong in either my coffee or my whiskey. So, as someone who enjoys whiskey, I’ve always wanted to get a decanter to go on our bar, but I’ve never found one that really spoke to me. That is, until I came across the Globe Decanter Set.
This decanter set is perfect for the traveling, whiskey connoisseur in your life. There are two items I’ve always had on my list of things to one day own – a decanter and a globe. Perhaps it is from moving so much as a kid, but globes and maps have always fascinated me.
I was really excited by the visual quality of the product. The maps are subtle, but detailed and look really great on both the decanter and the glasses! The dark base is a beautiful contrast and adds some class to the whole piece.
The decanter comes on a solid, well-made base that holds the globe decanter at an angle and has two spots for the globe glasses that come with it. It is hand-blown, made in the US, and holds 1000 mL of your favorite whiskey. The spots for the glasses are non-slip, which is always helpful when whiskey is involved.
I was really impressed with the quality of the product. The decanter itself has a wonderful etching of the world on it, feels solid, and is well balanced. One of the things I really enjoy is that you can turn the decanter so that whatever part of the world you feel like looking at can be shown and it will stay. It is perfectly balanced, which is fantastic.
Inside the globe is a glass ship figurine, which, as a Navy brat (hence all the moving), I especially enjoyed. It felt like someone made this with my father and me in mind. When I’m able to have visitors over, I look forward to the conversations this piece will start.
The glasses are also quite nice and the world map etchings on them are equally impressive. The maps on them are more detailed than I expected. The glasses are a wonderful size, even for those who prefer ice or some nice cold whiskey stones in their beverage.
Finally, the glass stopper looks wonderful and fits perfectly into the decanter. It will absolutely keep your whiskey in tip top condition, so here’s a good excuse to break out some of that nicer whiskey you’ve been holding onto – or to go buy some, though I found it worked quite wonderfully with my regular go to, Jameson. It pours beautifully, as well, so you shouldn’t lose any in the process.
I truly have to say, I was excited to get this decanter set and when it arrived I must say it was better than i anticipated. It is a great piece for home or office – depending on your office – lending some sophistication to your whiskey drinking. Slainté!
