Wells did good. Gil did good too, despite his arm slot still a slight tick lower than earlier in the season.

Volpe stuck in a 25-148 (.169) slump, .223 Slg%. You know its bad when you have more Ks than TB.

Verdugo is in his own 16-97 (.165) slide, with a .237 slg%.

But both need to play everyday without getting a breather, or a mental day to reset. Says who?

Rice has caught the Volpe disease - swing at everything.

Vivas is not up here to play, even though he is the best guy to hit leadoff, and there was a R/HSP today, and another one tomorrow.

I hear you, but, if you look, his arm slot is still slightly lower. Yes, his old slider from the current slot may not work from the current slot without the grip change, but they also figured out how to have him throw his FB for strikes too. I've been on about his lower arm slot from the SNB @Boston.

well, the Royals make the first move on the bullpen addition front.

Royals get Hunter Harvey from the Nationals. if I understand correctly, they gave up a minor league 3b and the 39th pick in the coming 2024 draft.

Harvey is probably not a top ten bullpen trade possibility, but he is a solid reliever. he would have been an improvement over some current members of the Yankees pen. it does not seem that the Royals had to pay too horrible of a tax for trying to jump the market

The Yankees should try to acquire another reliever from the Washington Nationals bullpen. Dylan Floro. I think he would make a great addition to the Yankees bullpen.

Perspectives: The Turning Point Series

July 12, 2024

But I sense, that these next three games will define the 2024 Yankees season and the direction the Yankees head for the next many seasons.

I sense that whichever person penned that

must be pretty pleased

after these first two of the three games.

yes, 3 homers are alaways nice with a quality 6 inning start. I'm still worried about Ben Rice who is now striking out like a Yankee since the 3 homer game. In his 1st 7-8 games he was not King much now its a regular thing w 3 more today. Someone needs to tell him he is not Aaron Judge and doesnt need to homer every time he steps to the plate.

no one will be afraid of Ben if he continues to swing at everything
