Quick Hit: ALMOST (Yanks Lose 4-3)

June 13, 2024

The Yankees were no hit for 6 innings, shutout for 7...

They came back.

Anthony Rizzo homered.

They soon took the lead.

They couldn't hold it...

The 50th win on the season must wait another day.

Holmes when he is on is very effective, and then there are days when he will frustrate you to no end... All closers have bad days, and the ultimate result is to reduce the number of them! 😀

If Cashman's big play as far as the bullpen is concerned is to wait for Schmidt, Effross, & Trivino, oh boy. Luke Weaver is not Phil Hughes, circa 2009, or even Joba circa 2011, before TJS. He doesn't belong in the late innings. Don't get me started on the ex-Dodger lefties, Ferguson & Gonzalez. . Hamilton was a nice story last year, but way too unreliable this year. We have 3 kids sitting in AA bullpen, and Gomez starting in AAA,

Nice HR by Rizzo, but he made another defensive gaffe today. Bat needs to come around because he is far from the GG winner he is. I can see Cabrera playing 3B 2x a week - once for …

I have more confidence in Holmes than I ever did in Aroldis Chapman. We are just spoiled because of Mariano!

Yes, even Mason Miller lost the other day. He got the "L" when rookie Jackson Merrill of the San Diego Padres hit a game-winning walk-off homer off of him.

Holmes is endlessly annoying but reasonably effective.

should Mariano wish to return to the playing field, the Yankees should offer an audition,

but, while they definitely need one or two additional good relief arms,

they can get by with Holmes

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.
