seems pretty obvious from post game locker interview that Jazz was more than a little frustrated about not starting today.

on one hand, I get it, and I am happy he is competitive and he wants to be in there

on the other hand, that is pretty selfish and unthoughtful. Rosario, McMahon, Caballero, and others are professionals also. does he think they should go around pouting when they do not start? would he enjoy that?

you are on a team. you work hard to be ready to go when you have an opportunity. you do what you are asked to do and you support your teammates when it is their opportunity PERIOD!

if Jazz is so positive that he should…

You sit the guy who is 6-for-9 vs. Crochet in favor of another lefty hitter??? That's the whole reason Rosario exists, to face LHPs. Now, Rosario in the event didn't get a hit (though he did turn a nice DP), but we have to look at the line-up choices ex ante, not ex post. In fact, the line-up didn't come through, but that's not Boone's fault; that was the right line-up to put out there based on what was known before game time.

I want to say something about the ump, but I want to be clear, this is NOT a complaint about the ump!!

the recorded history on the ump coming into the game was this-

hitter friendly umpire

he calls less strikes at the top of the zone than the average ump

going into the game, I wanted to hope that would be a great scenario for the Yankees. where does Crochet live? he throws his fastball at the top of the zone!!

even before I heard the umpire scouting report, here was my plan for Yankee hitters. remove the top of the zone!! ANYTHING up let it go!! if Crochet could hit that spot a lot it would be troub…

historically that has been true. today he had a truly dominant top TOP starter! honestly i NEVER bet on games with the teams that I cheer for, but if i was going to bet on this game, I would have bet on boston winning with Crochet going today

having that guy starting makes any manager pretty smart. you are correct Cora has almost always out managed boone. tomorrow he will not have the same advantage he had today. lets see what happens tomorrow.

all that said, Boone should also have realized what Crochet means. our chance was to have Fried match him. Fried should absolutely NOT have been pulled when he was pulled!!
