It looks all-but-certain that the Yankees will make the post season.

If the post season started today, it seems certain that the first two Yankees starters will be Max Fried and Carlos Rodon.

Who should be the third starter in the playoffs?

Schlittler. Arguably, he should start Game 1.

This is a silly question for August 31. Ask it again 30 days from now, and I'll have a meaningful answer.

the post-season starters might be effected by whether the Yankees begin the post-season by playing in the wild card round or not.

just for the halibut, try to imagine the Yankees prevailing against Toronto and Boston and winning the AL East.

it still seems highly unlikely, but stranger things......

imagine if the Yankees end up in clover and get to rest Fried and Rodon while some other teams burn through their best starters.

more likely is that there will not be time to rest

and they must try to claw through the wild card round

if that's the case, they'll use Rodon or Fried for the first game, and, if they begin with a win, they should send Schlitter to…

Gil appears to still be working out the kinks from the long layoff. Makes him a bit volatile.

Warren has shone at times but has been very shaky at others.

Schlittler however has settled in and has been a revelation. He seems to get better with every outing and already has the poise of a veteran. He has electric stuff and gives the upside of an ace.

As unthinkable as it seemed a month ago, if the playoffs started today, he gets the nod.

Gotta ride the hot hand in Schlittler by a nose over Warren.
