Paul Goldschmidt is off to an amazing start... He is batting .364. That's the good news.
The bad news is that he's not hitting for power. Goldy has 36 hits. 28 of those hits are singles. He has just 7 doubles, 0 triples, and 1 home run.
Should fans be concerned that Goldschmidt isn't hitting for power or will he be a valuable player even if he slides a bit and bats around .310 for the season with the same power?

No concerns. He plays excellent D, is essentially a coach on the field, and is hittiing well. Power will come. Hes a big strong guy.
156 wRC+ ......who cares about the HRs............But please DON'T sign him to a long-term extension.
Do the Yankees need Goldschmidt to hit more home runs? ABSOLUTELY!!! It's not like they have four other guys on pace to hit 35+ home runs, ammirite?
the Yankees lead the AL in runs scored/gm
in BA, OBP, Slugging
and, of course, OPS
the team also leads the AL in the number of HRs with 41 of them in 26 games
even though Goldschmidt and Bellinger and Dominguez have combined for only 5.
a wise man might opine that Goldschmidt's lack of HRs is evidence that he sucks,
and his BA proves nothing other than he sucks a little less than the rest of the American League,
bu we poor and immiserate Yankee fans must take whatever scant scraps of comfort are available.
Who would complain about .364?
