***

Yesterday our Editor-in-Chief expressed the fact that he is not very enthused about the Yankees' prospects for 2026 at this point.

How about you?

Do you feel the Yankees are on their way to building a championship level ballclub for 2026?

To early to pass judgement. Will keep an optimistic attitude that maybe Hal will open his McScrooge vault and put some of his profits towards the roster. 🤞

No.... in Hal's mind they already have a championship level team.... Cashman will do a couple of tweaks here and there, but it's business as usual.... what do the fans expect ... we were in WS and the playoffs last year..... The coffers are brimming with cash and Hal is a happy camper!

No. Hal is too stingy. A .500 team is good enough for him.

They've been .500 in what, TWO times in the last 30 years??

I'm also not optimistic about the coming season. The Overton Window for this team seems to center around whether or not to bring back Bellinger and maybe add a marginal reliever or two. That's not even going to make us competitive with our 2025 squad, let alone the Jays/Sox/Dodgers.

completely fell asleep?

4 games played, 19 runs scored.

.250 BA, .327 OBP over the 4 games

offense asleep?

no, Luigi, the offense was not asleep

it's just that your analysis is skewed by something or other.

the Yankee offense was present

the Toronto offense beat the Yankee pitching.

"This charming and meticulously researched book will remind you of baseball’s power to change and enrich lives far beyond the diamond."

From Compton to the Bronx.jpg

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
